You all are "A1" top, wonderful people!
The converter you provided me with is installed, as well as the
two new oxygen sensors. I passed my California smog test, too,
with the "NOx" reading going down from about 650 to about 20!
The smog check on the new converter was a "Free Retest" situation,
and the proprietor asked me what I had done to improve my
vehicle's performance. He had not been helpful in diagnosing the
problem, and in fact had given me confusing and misleading
information, so I deadpanned in response to his question that I had
just let the truck sit for a couple of weeks. The smog proprietor
scowled... When it becamse apparent that my vehicle has passed
the test, he bent down and shined his flashlight under my car and
came up smiling! 
I admitted that I had replaced the converter
AS WELL AS letting the truck sit for a couple of weeks!
The new Kragen gaskets and new well torqued Grade 8 flange bolts
sealed up the new converter and eliminated a noise that I thought was
a chronic rattle, but apparently was an exhaust leak. Thus, I am
VERY HAPPY with the new converter and oxygen sensors!
